The Nashville Hitmakers return Saturday for their sixth annual performance and among the lineup Saturday evening at Indian Lake High School are two couples.
Lari White is married to Chuck Cannon, and Shawn Camp and Lauren Mascitti are dating.
Lari White is celebrating 25 years as a recording artist.
The award-winning recording artist and hit songwriter made music history as the first female to produce a male superstar with Toby Keith’s platinum White Trash With Money.
She has produce records and written songs for Shawn Mullins, Tammy Wynette, Toby Keith and Lonestar.
She recently released EPs, Old Friends, New Loves, featuring guests, Suzy Bogguss, Victor Wooten, Lee Roy Parnel and Delbert McClinton.
She first gained national attention in 1988 as a winner on You Can Be A Star, a talent competition that aired on The Nashville Network. She is married to songwriter, Chuck Cannon, who also appears on the Hitmakers’ lineup this year.
She appeared opposite Tom Hanks in the blockbuster movie, Cast Away and has starred in films for Lifetime TV and CMT. She also originated the role of June in Ring of Fire: The Music of Johnny Cash on Broadway.
Chuck Cannon is a native of South Carolina and has been influenced by R&B, rock & roll, gospel and country music.
He wrote I Love the Way You Love Me, recorded by John Michael Montgomery, which earned the Academy of Country Music Song of the Year award; and Toby Keith’s How Do You Like Me Now?, both of which earned Eight-Million-Air award from Broadcast Music Incorporated for received eight million spins at radio. He also wrote American Soldier recorded by Toby Keith.
He has self-released two albums, God Shaped Hole in 2006, and Love and Money in 2008.
Shawn Camp has co-written hit singles for many country music artists including Garth Brooks (Two Pina Coladas), Josh Turner (Would You Go With Me), Brooks & Dunn (How Long Gone) and Blake Shelton (Nobody But Me). He also has written with Loretta Lynn.
He won a Grammy in 2014 for his production of Guy Clark’s album, My Favorite Picture of You. A member of the World Famous Headliners with Big Al Anderson, Pat McLaughlin, Michael Rhodes and Greg Morrow, he also is the lead singer for The Earls of Leicester, an all acoustic band that performs and records only the music of Flatt and Scruggs and the Foggy Mountain Boys. The Earls won the Grammy for Best Bluegrass Album in 2015.
Lauren Mascitti is a native of Louisville, Ohio.
She credits Waylon Jennings as an inspiration to her, along with Crystal Gayle and Statler Brothers, all of whom her grandparents, with whom she resided, would allow her to stay up and watch on television.
“Country and gospel music have always been the most honest outlet for me,” she said.
She has written for and/or performed with such talents as Larry Gatlin, Pam Tillis, Shawn Camp, Matraca Berg, Wil Nance, Mo Pitney, Pat McLaughlin and Delbert McClinton.
She has recorded nine CDs and her newest album, It’s Never Just a Song is composed of all original material.
She was Ohio’s 2009 Colgate Country Showdown winner.
