A pedestrian carrying an open container of alcohol was arrested, and also charged with multiple drug charges about 6 p.m. Thursday.
An officer of the Bellefontaine Police Department while on patrol observed Ryan Parmer, 27, at-large, reportedly carrying an open container of alcohol while walking in the area of west Sandusky and Garfield avenues.
As the officer attempted to make contact with the suspect, Parmer reportedly attempted to conceal the open alcoholic beverage setting on the sidewalk, feign tying his shoes and walking off towards Lawrence Street.
Parmer acknowledged the alcohol was his, and also reportedly admitted to possessing hypodermic needles in a book bag he was carrying.
A search of the bag revealed suspected methamphetamine wrapped in foil, along with a digital scale, five additional syringes and multiple plastic bags.
He was lodged in Logan County Jail.
