Paul E. Comer, 87, of Zanesfield, passed away at 9:15 a.m. Monday, May 23, 2016, at Campbell Place, Bellefontaine.
He was born in Champaign County on Aug. 13, 1928, to the late Forest and Lena Pence Comer. He also was preceded in death by two sisters, Imogene Clapsaddle and Treva Clapsaddle; and a brother, Bill Comer.
He is survived by his wife, Julia A. Newman Comer of Belle Center; his sons, Phil (Marsha) Comer of Wapakoneta, Rob (Jenny) Comer of Bellefontaine and Rich (Christine) Comer of Australia; five grandchildren, Matt Comer, Roman Comer, Liam Comer, Hayden Comer and Brad Pulfer; three great-grandchildren, Paige Comer, Trent Comer and Reed Comer; a sister, Kathleen Ricketts of Zanesfield; and several nieces and nephews.
Paul was a Korean War veteran who became a farmer and later worked as an excavator. He enjoyed tapping maple trees for syrup, reading and walking in the woods.
A graveside service is at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 26, at Fairview Cemetery, Belle Center.
