Jonathan Knauff, 46, of Bainbridge, was charged with felony counts of possession of methamphetamine, possession of cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia and identity fraud related to a traffic stop Monday evening.
Officers of the Washington Township Police Department on patrol in the area of State Route 235 and County Road 54 about 7:20 p.m. observed a vehicle with an expired driver and initiated the stop, identifying the driver as Joshua Knauff, 44, of Bainbridge.
The passenger initially identified himself as “Joseph” Knauff, and officers noticed the Social Security number provided by the passenger did not match the photo ID provided.
While speaking with officers, the driver continued telling officers the passenger was his brother Joseph. K9 Bruno was called to the scene to assist.
The canine alerted on the vehicle, and officers conducted a search, locating a bag containing a methamphetamine pipe and two separate bags of methamphetamine on the passenger side floorboard. Officers also located an orange pill bottle containing a white powdery substance believed to be cocaine.
When officers advised the passenger what he was being charged with, he finally provided his real name, and officers learned he had felony drug warrants out for his arrest.
Jonathan then advised officers he had blood clots in his legs and needed a squad. He was transported to Lima Memorial Health System by Indian Lake EMS.
Joshua was charged with driving without a valid driver while having a temporary permit and felony obstruction.
• Michael Croyle, 56, of Celina, was charged with a felony count of possession of drugs during a traffic stop Monday afternoon.
Officers on patrol about 2:40 p.m. in the area of Township Road 239 and U.S. Route 33 reportedly observed a vehicle driven by Croyle to have a broken windshield. The vehicle’s registration also returned to a trailer.
Upon making contact with Croyle, officers observed signs of drug use. The defendant consented to a search of his vehicle. A clear plastic bag containing methamphetamine and a methamphetamine pipe was located. He was taken into custody and transported to the Logan County Jail.
• Daniel Chileski, 22, of 8312 State Route 366, lot 23, Russells Point, was charged Monday morning with aggravated menacing and aggravated trespass.
Officers were dispatched about 9:40 a.m. to lot 26 in reference to a male subject that entered a home and attempted to assault the park manager.
Upon arrival, officers met with the victim, who stated Chileski began yelling at him and made threats against him. The defendant reportedly followed the victim into the home and attempted to punch him. Chileski then left and went to his residence.
Officers made contact with Chileski and he denied the allegations. Chileski was taken into custody and lodged in the jail. The Logan County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.
