Ashley D. Mundy, 33, of 512 W. Columbus Ave., was charged Friday with trafficking in cocaine, possession of marijuana, possession of cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia and corrupting another with drugs.
She was found at home, officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department report, and taken into custody on a parole violation.
Under the parole guidelines, officers searched her residence and sport utility vehicle.
Several ounces of marijuana were found in the SUV.
Officers had observed her sending text messages to her pregnant 16-year-old daughter and learned the suspect asked the daughter to hide a bag.
It was found in a bedroom closet and it contained digital scales and more than 20 grams of crack cocaine.
Cash also was recovered from the suspect.
She was lodged in the Logan County Jail.
Man charged with assault
Randall L. Lawrence Jr., 32, at large, was arrested Thursday for felonious assault and abduction.
Shawna Powell, 832 Rush Ave., was receiving treatment from paramedics at the Bellefontaine Fire and EMS Department at 1 p.m. She told officers the suspect beat her severely and held her against her will until she was able to escape.
Photographs were taken of her injuries to her face, neck, arms and lower back.
She was transported to Mary Rutan Hospital.
The assault occurred in a garage in the city’s near north side and began around 10 p.m. Wednesday.
The suspect was located around 10:30 p.m. and arrested.
Passengers charged with drug charges

Shane Slagle, 36, of 440 S. Main St., was charged Saturday with possession of cocaine, possession of heroin and possession of criminal tools after a 4:30 a.m. traffic stop Saturday.
He was a passenger in a car stopped for improper display of a license plate.
Records indicated Slagle was wanted on a Shelby County felony warrant.
A knotted plastic bag containing cocaine was found on the floor board where he was seated and paraphernalia common with crack cocaine usage was recovered from the car.
He was lodged in jail.
• Jorrell Johnson, 36, of 224 E. Sandusky Ave., was charged Saturday with possession of marijuana after a 12:30 a.m. traffic stop on Allison Road at Dakota Street.
He was a rear seat passenger. The officer detected an odor of alcohol and marijuana and asked about alcohol consumption and the contraband.
Johnson admitted consuming alcohol and carrying two small bags with marijuana which he handed over to police.
Alcohol abuse leads to arrests
Russell L. Lusby, 62, at large, was charged Tuesday with criminal trespassing and public intoxication. He was found around 6:15 p.m. sitting behind Speedway, 600 E. Sandusky Ave., consuming alcohol.
He previously had been told by the station to stay off the property.
He was lodged in jail.
• Edith M. Butler, 48, of 326 Shady Lane Drive, Apt. 11, was charged Tuesday with public intoxication, resisting arrest and persistent disorderly conduct.
Officers were called to her father’s residence at 212 Evansville St. around 7 p.m. and William Robinson told them he wanted her to leave.
She was uncooperative with officers and unsteady on her feet.
She reportedly began kicking at and shoving officers when they acted to arrest her. Inside the cruiser, she tried to kick out a window.
Officers took her to jail where she was placed in a restraint chair.
• Gregory Mathews, 54, of 1082 Heritage Court, was charged Saturday with public intoxication. He was observed stumbling as he walked in the area of Hayes Street and Columbus Avenue around 1 a.m.
Threats, shoves land husband in jail.
John C. Brennan, 48, of 214 Pratt St., Apt. 9, was charged Sunday with domestic violence.
Officers were called to the residence around 2:15 p.m. and Debbie Brannan told them the suspect threatened to harm her and shoved her into a wall. He also grabbed her by the throat and held her down on the bed.
He was found inside and was arrested.
Drunk driver crashes
Candice N. Kirkpatrick, 34, of 220 Oakland Square, was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs and cited for failure to control after a single-vehicle crash Saturday.
Around 1:45 a.m., she was southbound in the 300 block of north Main Street and accelerated rapidly. She lost control and the pickup truck spun off the road into the side of Community Markets, 309 N. Main St.
Damage was heavy to the pickup.
Officers detected an odor of alcohol while talking with her. She refused field sobriety tests, but submitted breathalyzer samples which were more than 0.11.
She has a previous conviction from September.
Unconscious driver charged
Zachary O. Pope, 24, of 112 W. High Ave., was charged Monday with illegal possession of prescription drugs, possession of dangerous drugs and possession of an unlabeled prescription pill bottle.
He was found at 3:55 a.m. unconscious in a car parked running at Walmart, 2281 S. Main St.
Officers found pain relievers in an unlabeled pill bottle and in a green metal canister. They also seized his cellular phone and a rolled up $5 bill, both of which had residue that appeared to be crushed up pills.
He was lodged in jail.
