Byron J. Holton Jr., 26, of Lima, and Dustin D. Stevens, 32, of 5284 County Road 12, Rushsylvania, each was lodged for felony drug charges Thursday evening after deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office stopped to assist motorists with a disabled vehiclei.
About 8 p.m., deputies stopped to speak with the individuals by the vehicle parked by Adams Ski Shop, 3621 County Road 28, Zanesfield.
They discovered that one of the passengers, Mr. Holton, had been indicted by a Logan County grand jury this week for charges of corrupting another with drugs and trafficking in cocaine, as previously reported in the Examiner. He was placed under arrest.
While processing the vehicle, deputies recovered a glass pipe for smoking cocaine on the floor of the vehicle. Mr. Stevens admitted using the pipe to smoke cocaine just prior to deputies’ arrival. He was charged with drug abuse and possession of drug abuse instruments.
Both men were transported to the Logan County Jail.
