Joseph L. Converse, 46, and Stephanie Converse, 31, both of 11287 Mohawk Path, Lakeview, each were issued a summons for child endangering related to an incident Monday morning.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office responded about 4:50 a.m. to a report of a motorist who had located a young child walking along north State Route 235, more than half a mile from his home.
Deputies met the motorist and the child at the North Lakeview Market, 13840 N. S.R. 235. They noted that the child, who said he was 6 years old, was wet following a thunderstorm that had passed through the area. The boy could not identify his last name, his parents’ names or where he lived.
Deputies provided the boy a ride to the sheriff’s office, where he received a breakfast meal and a blanket.
Logan County Children’s Services was contacted, and officials were able to identify the child’s parents as Mr. and Mrs. Converse.
Deputies responded to the family’s address, and reportedly knocked on their door for about 15 minutes before Mrs. Converse answered the door. She and Mr. Converse were issued the summonses.
