Joshua A. Slayter, 32, and Shalynn N. Parks, 24, both of 369 Penny Lane, Bellefontaine, each was lodged Thursday in the Logan County Jail related to a theft reported by Mr. Slayter’s relative.
Wednesday evening, deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office contacted Donna Prater, 3882 Harrison Road, Bellefontaine, after receiving a report that two power saws had been taken from her garage.
Mr. Slayter was identified as a suspect, and he was located during a traffic stop about 2:30 p.m. Thursday in the 800 block of south Main Street in Bellefontaine. He was charged with theft and was transported to the jail.
Ms. Parks was located at her residence. She allegedly took the stolen power saws to Cashland to pawn the items. She was charged with receiving stolen property and also was transported to the jail.
Damage to bridge overpass investigated
Deputies are investigating a hit-skip crash Wednesday evening that caused damage to the bridge overpass on County Road 11 at the Bellefontaine corporation limit.
About 10:40 p.m., deputies were notified of damage to the cables used to secure the bridge. The vehicle that caused the damage had left the scene.
