Amber M. Mathews, 30, address at large, Bellefontaine, and Lance A. Wilson, 45, 5983 County Road 39, Huntsville, each was arrested Thursday afternoon following an incident in Huntsville.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office on patrol in the area about 12:25 p.m. observed a suspicious vehicle at the Huntsville Park, 4601 Napoleon St.
As deputies approached the vehicle, a sliding door opened and two people were observed on a mattress in the rear of the vehicle.
After questioning the pair, deputies asked for permission to search the vehicle. Deputies also asked Ms. Mathews for consent to search her purse. When she picked up her purse, deputies noticed that she took something from it and attempted to hide it under the mattress.
When questioned further about this, she picked up the mattress and deputies observed a plastic baggie with several small balls of aluminum foil filled with suspected heroin.
Deputies also located a variety of drug paraphernalia during their search, and the vehicle was towed from the park.
Ms. Mathews was charged with a felony count of possession of drugs, and Mr. Wilson was charged with a felony count of complicity. They were lodged in the Logan County Jail.
Man lodged for disorderly conduct
Kevin Latham, 44, of 4000 Alpine Parkway, Lot A2, Zanesfield, was charged with persistent disorderly conduct Thursday and was lodged in the Logan County Jail.
Deputies received an initial complaint about 4:40 p.m. from another resident of that address, April McFarland, 38. She said the two had argued over guests she had invited to the residence. She reported that he became angry and started yelling at her, and then left the area in a vehicle.
During their conversation, Mr. Latham returned to the residence. Deputies explained to him that he could not force Ms. McFarland from the residence without using the eviction process, nor could he keep her from inviting friends over. Deputies then cleared the scene.
About 20 minutes later, deputies were called back to the residence. Ms. McFarland reported that the defendant had again began to yell at her and after sitting in his vehicle with him, he would not let her out.
Deputies located Mr. Latham in the manufactured home park and placed him under arrest.
