Kyle W. May, 33, and Jack C. Curl Jr., 53, both of 217 White St., Kenton, each was arrested for breaking and entering related to an incident early Saturday morning at KC Autoparts, 12585 N. State Route 235, Lakeview.
Deputies responded to the business about 3:15 a.m. on a report of a burglary in progress.
The business owner and resident of that address, Kevin Waltz, 56, said he was awakened by his motion sensor at the business, and found that two people were attempting to steal aluminum rims .
When deputies arrived at the property, they observed that suspects had attempted to steal a total of 28 rims, and some of the rims were located by a gate, some by a ditch and others near a wooded area of the property. The total value of the rims is about $3,500, Waltz said.
The first suspect, May, was located on the property by a canine unit, and was placed under arrest.
The second suspect, Curl, was located at a nearby gas station when deputies recognized the suspect vehicle description provided by the business owner.
Curl and May each was transported to the Logan County Jail.
Waltz reported that a similar incident happened at his business earlier this year. Deputies continue their investigation, and additional charges are pending.
