Dozens of middle and high school youths filled the Indian Lake Middle School gymnasium Friday night for a Fifth Quarter event hosted by the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. The local Fifth Quarter outings and FCA chapter were initiated by an outreach led by Indian Lake Community Church and The Lighthouse, with support from St. Mary of the Woods and other community leaders “to provide a fun, safe, and positive environment to give students a place they can go on a Friday night when there’s generally nothing to do after (home sporting events),” according to youth pastor Joel Perez. The next event is slated Feb. 5 at the conclusion of the varsity boys basketball game versus Northwestern. The events are free. For more information, e-mail Mr. Perez at [email protected].
