Northeastern’s boys basketball team forced visiting Triad to play catch up early on Friday and held on for a 64-56 Ohio Heritage Conference win.
The Cardinals drop to 4-6 overall and are 2-5 in the OHC, while the Jets improve to 7-6, 3-4.
Northeastern grabbed a 17-6 lead at the end of the first quarter and outscored Triad 19-4 in the second quarter. That put the Jets on top 36-10 at halftime.
The Cardinals were able cut into that deficit with a 25-7 run in the third quarter. That brought Triad to within eight points at 43-35.
