Eric B. Yoder, 52, of West Liberty, was cited for improper backing related to a non-injury crash Tuesday morning in a construction zone.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office report he was operating a westbound Ohio Ready Mix truck about 5:45 a.m. on the eastbound lane in the construction zone along State Route 720 near Township Road 86.
The construction site was illuminated by industrial flood lights that were directed toward the approach taken by Yoder’s vehicle. The driver said his sight was affected by the intensity of the flood lights, which interfered with his view of the roadway. His vehicle struck an unoccupied Ohio Department of Transportation van parked along the south side of the road. Damage was light to both vehicles.
• Carla Alspaugh, 62, of Waynesfield, was cited for improper passing related to a non-injury crash about 11:45 a.m. Tuesday on U.S. Route 33 in Lakeview.
She reportedly was operating a westbound sport utility vehicle near the intersection of Stephenson Street. A westbound pickup in front of her operated by Michael A. Foe, 67, of Lockbourne, slowed to make a turn and Alspaugh attempted to pass his vehicle on the right side.
Foe made a turn and struck the SUV, causing light damage to both vehicles.
• David A. Wilt, 59, of Huntsville, was cited for rules for turns at intersections following a non-injury crash Tuesday morning in Lakeview.
Deputies report he was operating a westbound car on U.S. Route 33 about 7:45 a.m. and attempted to make a left turn onto north Oak Street. He cut the turn short and struck a northbound car operated by Wendy Houser, 20, of Lakeview, that was stopped at the stop sign.
