Gene Brown, 31, of Russells Point, was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs as a result of a traffic stop early Wednesday morning.
Officers of the Russells Point Police Department on patrol shortly after midnight observed a speed violation with his vehicle on U.S. Route 33 near Clermont Avenue and initiated the stop.
The vehicle made several lane violations as officers caught up to the vehicle.
Officers stopped the vehicle and noticed that Brown showed signs of impairment.
The defendant admitted to drinking and he also had a suspended driver’s license, officers said. He failed field sobriety tests.
Brown was placed under arrest and transported to the Logan County Jail where he submitted to a urine test, with test results pending. His vehicle was towed from the scene.
Brown also was cited for speed and driving under suspension.
