Beginning with the upcoming school year, a new meningococcal vaccine requirement takes effect under Ohio law.
All incoming seventh-graders must have one dose of the meningococcal vaccine, and all incoming 12th-graders must have a second dose of the vaccine.
To make an immunization appointment, contact your family physician or the Logan County Health District at (937) 651-6186. The health district, 310 S. Main St., offers immunization clinics from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursdays and from 2 to 6 p.m. on the first Thursday of the month.
More information on the vaccine requirements can be found at www.odh.ohio.gov/odhprograms/bid/immunization/imunchsc.aspx.
