Nearie M. Waugh, 96, of Marysville and formerly of West Mansfield, died Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2016, at Memorial Gables in Marysville.
Born July 25, 1920, in Mason County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Ben and Neva Milton.
On Aug. 19, 1938, she married Baylous Waugh and on Oct. 27, 2004, her beloved husband of more than 66 years of marriage preceded her in death. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Sam, Pete and Frank.
A loving homemaker for her family, Nearie also enjoyed gardening, sewing, watching the Cincinnati Reds and going to yard sales. She was also a member of the York Center United Methodist Church.
Surviving are her children, Sandy (Gerry) Waugh of Marysville, Garry (Judy) Waugh of Springfield, Herb (Jean) Waugh of Clear Lake, Iowa, and Sue (Aaron) Wright of Marion; her sisters, Loretta Rendel of Phoenix, Ariz., and Mary Francis Wibley of Marysville; and she was a loving grandma to eight grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter.
Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, at Wilson Funeral Home-Mannasmith Chapel, 621 W. Fifth St., Marysville, where calling is from 4 to 7 p.m. today. Pastor Ken Nicol officiates and burial follows at the York Cemetery in York Center.
