Nazola “Sis” Bayless, 73, of Plain City, and formerly of Bellefontaine, passed away Monday afternoon, April 11, 2022, at Dublin Methodist Hospital.
Sis was born in Lima, Ohio, on June 16, 1948, to the late Willie and Alice (Bursey) Eddins, Sr. She married Kenneth L. Bayless on December 12, 1970, in Van Wert, Ohio, and he preceded her in death on January 24, 2005. Nazola was also preceded in death by a son Chad Bayless in 2015, sister Dessie James, and brothers David Eddins and Willie Eddins, Jr.
Sis is survived by her children: Covett (James) Bush of Bellefontaine, Jesse (Amy) Bayless of Plain City, and Kymberly Pate of Columbus; 7 grandchildren: Jordan (Tara) Branson, Kuuchanda Brown, Jessica Bush, Trevor Bayless, Cameron Bayless, R.J. Pate, and Kendeecee Pate; 4 great-grandchildren: A-mya, Ariah, Ava, Lunnon; siblings: Herman Eddins, Curt Eddins, Doris (Ted) Kelly, and Gaines (DeeDee) Moran, all of Van Wert; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Sis worked as a laborer for 40 years at Siemens and retired when the plant closed. She enjoyed watching Sci-Fi tv channel, playing the lottery, cooking, and reading. But most of all, Sis loved taking care of her family, and the entire neighborhood.
Pastor Karen Cane will officiate Sis’s funeral service on Saturday, April 23, at noon at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Bellefontaine, where the visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to noon, with the service immediately following. Burial will be in Ridgeway Cemetery.
Following the burial, the family will be having a meal at the Logan County Friendly Senior Center, 934 S. Main St. Bellefontaine. Food donations are welcome and can be dropped off Saturday between 1 and 2 p.m.
