The Bellefontaine Municipal Court will begin accepting online payments of traffic and criminal fines as part of a recent round of technological upgrades.
Effective Monday, individuals with cases in the court will be able to make a payment through the website www.ci.bellefontaine.oh.us/municipal-court, Judge Ann E. Beck said.
In recent months, the court made its records accessible online with information dating back to the late 1980s and early 1990s.
A link on the homepage will allow users to look up a case or to pay online using credit or debit cards, Judge Beck said.
Payments by local check, cash or money order will still be accepted at the clerk’s counter or by mail and people making payments on civil cases can pay over the telephone with a credit card or in person or by mail with a local check.
The Court is working with the company Infintech to manage the payment system, the judge reported. Users will be charged a $2.95 fee for payments up to $100 with an additional percentage charged for payments of more than $100.
A computer is located in the court’s 226 W. Columbus Ave. lobby for public access to records or the online payment system.
