Flint S. Perdue, 46, of 108 McKeestown Road, was charged Friday by officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs and cited for failure to signal, speeding, driving under suspension and having an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle.
Around 1:20 a.m., an officer observed Flint in a pickup truck turn from Main Street onto eastbound Lake Avenue without using a turn signal and then travel at 35 mph in a 25-mph zone.
Officers detected an odor of alcohol on his breath and noted he was slurring his speech. There also was an open can of beer in the center console cupholder.
Field sobriety tests indicated he was intoxicated and breathalyzer samples came back at 0.18.
He was released to a sober relative.
• James E. Baldwin, 43, of Sidney, was charged Saturday with consuming alcohol in a motor vehicle. He was stopped around 2:55 p.m. on Eaton Street and Auburn Avenue and cited for a stop sign violation, failure to signal and no driver’s license.
Open cans of beer were found inside his van. Field sobriety tests did not indicate he was impaired by alcohol.
