Jessie Rife, 21, of 3055 S. Township Road 32, Bellefontaine, was issued a summons Monday for fleeing and eluding and also received several citations related to an incident that occurred Aug. 31.
A deputy of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office initiated a traffic stop about 12:50 p.m. Aug. 31 with Mr. Rife’s motorcycle on Township Road 32 near Township Road 190. The motorcyclist reportedly was observed without eye protection and noted that there was no visible registration for the motorcycle.
The deputy spoke with Mr. Rife about the violations, and then returned to the patrol vehicle for a records check. The defendant then allegedly fled the scene.
Mr. Rife followed up with deputies about the incident Monday, and also was cited for no operator’s license, no registration and no eye protection.
• Cathy J. Grant, 39, of 304 W. Miami St., DeGraff, was issued a summons for littering this week following a complaint received Sept. 3.
Deputies were contacted by Ray Snapp, 12470 County Road 70, Quincy, who reported that someone had dumped numerous bags of trash in a creek area on his property.
After investigating the complaint, Ms. Grant was issued the summons.
