Robert Crawford, 47, of DeGraff, was transported by CareFlight helicopter to Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton for treatment of injuries sustained in a motorcycle crash about 10:55 p.m. Thursday.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office report he was operating a southbound motorcycle on south State Route 235 in Miami Township when he failed to maintain control and drove left of center into the northbound lane of traffic. The motorcycle then overturned onto its left side before sliding to a stop in the northbound lane.
Crawford was not wearing a helmet, according to the crash report. The crash remains under investigation and no citations have yet been issued. Damage was light to the motorcycle, which was towed from the scene.
Domestic violence charges filed
Nathaniel J. Howard, 30, of 10639 County Road 26, West Mansfield, was charged with domestic violence related to an incident Thursday evening in Ridgeway.
Deputies were dispatched to 216 S. Main St. in reference to a possible domestic dispute. They spoke with Howard’s wife, who said the couple had been in an argument that day and she said he had been drinking. She told deputies that he had thrown a full and unopened can of beer at her and the beer struck her left forearm, which had sustained a red mark and was swollen.
His wife said the defendant then grabbed a board and began striking her vehicle, smashing four of the windows and the front windshield and denting the hood. He then also busted out the rear window of his vehicle.
Logan County deputies and Hardin County deputies located Howard at the S&K Mini Mart in Ridgeway. He spoke with deputies about the incident that evening. The defendant was placed under arrest and transported to the Logan County Jail.
• Derrik J. Trahan, 37, 11138 Cherokee Path, Lakeview, was charged with domestic violence related to an incident early Friday morning.
Deputies responded to the area about 2:10 a.m. to on a report of a woman banging on a neighbor’s door asking for someone to help her.
The victim told deputies that Trahan stole her cell phone and wallet and had been assaulting her. Deputies noticed bruises on her arm, and she said the bruises were from him grabbing her several days ago. She said he also destroyed the home, and deputies observed that the house was in disarray.
While deputies were speaking with Trahan, they observed that he was intoxicated and that he had a cut on his forearm. He was placed under arrest and lodged in the jail.
