Indian Lake High School senior ceramics student April Whitcher delivers a ceramic monster to Indian Lake Elementary School first-grader Miley Humble at the conclusion of a cross campus project conducted throughout the school year. The high-schoolers delivered more than 100 customized clay monsters to the younger pupils who designed them. The first-graders utilized geometric, abstract/organic and real shapes during the design process, ILES Art Teacher Terry Nelson said. Then the high school ceramics students set to work moving those designs off the page, sculpting and painting the creations. ILHS art teacher Erin Miller said it took awhile to complete the project, but the look on the first-graders’ faces made it worthwhile. (PHOTO | INDIAN LAKE SCHOOLS)
