Milo Andrew Ricketts Jr., 92, formerly of Bellefontaine, passed away Monday, Oct. 30, 2017, in the Genacross Lutheran Center in Napoleon.
He was born in Zanesfield on March 10, 1925, a son of the late Milo Andrew Sr. and Mary Margaret Kline Ricketts.
On March 6, 1949, he married Patricia C. Smith in Bellefontaine and she preceded him in death Nov. 14, 2013.He is also preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Pauline Kerns, and a brother, Ralph H. Ricketts.
He is survived by a daughter, Susan Ricketts of Indianapolis, Ind.; two sons, Ted Ricketts of Bellefontaine and Timothy (Renee) Ricketts of Napoleon; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Betty Kreinbihl of Mansfield; five brothers, Jack (Patricia) Ricketts of Westerville, Glenn (Joann) Ricketts of Cleveland, William (Melva) Ricketts of Belle Center, James (Judy) Ricketts of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Dick (Brenda) Ricketts of Indiana; a sister-in-law, Marcile Ricketts of Bellefontaine; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Milo was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII and worked as a team leader for D.A.B. in Bellefontaine for 38 years, retiring in 1988. He was a longtime member of the First Church of God, Bellefontaine, and in his spare time, he loved caring for his garden. He enjoyed following the Ohio State Buckeyes athletics as well as the Cincinnati Reds.
Pastor Gary Brown officiates a funeral service at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 4 in the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 321 N. Main St., Bellefontaine, following visitation that begins at 10 a.m. Burial with military honors follows in Bellefontaine Cemetery.
