Mildred Anna “Millie” Lannoch Light passed away peacefully in her sleep on Dec. 27, 2016, at the age of 95.
She was born Aug. 13, 1921, in Cleveland and lived in the Cleveland area during her early life. She moved to Masontown, W.Va., and graduated from Masontown High School in 1939. She met the love of her life Wilmer Wayne “Jake” Light and they were married June 14, 1941.
She was the loving mother of Troxel Wayne (Grace) Light of The Villages, Fla., and Terrell Wayne Light of Bellefontaine; a doting grandmother to Victoria (Jeffrey) Van Fossen and Scott (Sheryl) Light; proud great-grandmother to Bethany and Graham Light and Georgia and William Van Fossen; a cherished sister-in-law to Edie Lannoch; and aunt to many nephews.
Jake and Millie spent their retirement years at Indian Lake with many fond memories.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Wilmer; brothers, Arthur and Ernest Lannoch; great-grandson, Jacob Light; and nephews, Dennis and Rick Lannoch.
She will forever be remembered for her love of life and family and her love of crossword puzzles, any card game, cooking and sewing. She was a wonderful homemaker and possessed an extraordinary gift of hospitality. Her greatest treasure was her devotion to the Lord and her Christian faith. Next, was her deep love of family and togetherness. Her faith is now sight.
Pastor Karen Torrez begins funeral services at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 29, at Galilee Lutheran Church, 301 Lincoln Blvd., Russells Point, with visitation an hour prior to the service. Burial is in Huntsville Cemetery, Huntsville.
Contributions may be given in her name to Galilee Lutheran Church.
