Michael L. Bogardus, 69, a native of Bellefontaine, passed away unexpectedly at his home. He was born in Logan County on March 14, 1952, a son of the late Richard C. and Betty Jean (Lee) Bogardus. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Vanora Patrick, and a brother, Steven Bogardus.
Mike is survived by a daughter, Sarah Bogardus; a son, Aaron Norris; a beloved grandson, Fisher Wildenhaus; his dear friend, Rose Bishop; brothers, James (Lindy) Bogardus and Michael Patrick; and three beautiful nieces.
Mike had lived in three countries before he was 30. He retired from HBD Thermoid following 32 years of service. He loved music, fishing, nit picking, small grumpy dogs, nature, and playing pool, belonging to pool leagues in both Indian Lake and Wapakoneta. Mike was the patriarch of his family. His crass jokes, foul mouth, and unwaivering love and support will be sorely missed by those that loved and knew him.
A celebration of life service will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Monday, June 14, at the Camp Myeerah Nature Preserve Lodge, 7405 OH-540, Bellefontaine, Ohio, 43311.
Memorial contributions may be made, in Mike’s memory, to the Doyle R. Miller AMVETS Post #39, 110 W. Harrison Street, Lakeview, Ohio 43311.
