Melissa R. Katterheinrich, 48, of DeGraff, passed away at 12:45 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 24, 2017, at Logan Acres Care Center. She was born on Dec. 31, 1968 in Marion, Ind., to Charles (Cathy) Brown and Linda (Robert) Smith.
In addition to her parents, Melissa is survived by her fiancé, Dennis Stryker; two daughters, Kayla (Jon) Craft and Allison Katterheinrich; a son, Douglas Homan; four grandchildren; a sister, Amy Dorris; three stepsiblings; and many nieces and nephews.
A member of Lewistown Trinity United Methodist Church, Melissa worked as a life enrichment director at the Homestead at Logan Acres. Caring for the residents of Logan Acres was her passion; and Melissa enjoyed spending time with the Homestead residents during the outings and events she helped organize. She especially loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Pastor Debra S. Ketcham officiates a funeral service at 1 p.m. Monday, Aug. 28, at the Lewistown Trinity United Methodist Church, 8088 County Road 54, Lewistown, where visitation begins at 11 a.m. Burial follows in Fairview Cemetery in Quincy.
