Matthew David Driscol, 47, of Belle Center, passed away Friday, April 13, 2018, at Mary Rutan Hospital Emergency Department following a car accident.
Matt was born in Bellefontaine on March 21, 1971, to Michael L. Driscol, who survives in Belle Center, and the late Rebecca L. Henson Driscol Monroe.
A graduate of Bellefontaine High School, Matt was working at Airstream as an assembler. He was also a selfemployed carpenter with H&D Construction. Matt loved to hang out with his friends and enjoyed spending time with his family. A self-proclaimed workaholic, Matt would still find time to fish, go four-wheeling and enjoy a cold beverage or two.
Matt married Shannon N. Harris on March 25, 2003, and she survives in Belle Center. He is also survived by children, Cole Driscol and Katelyn Driscol, both of Belle Center, Dustin (Sara) Driscol of Bellefontaine, Derrek Driscol of Kenton, Scottie (Tabby) McMillen of Lakeview and Chelsie McMillen of Portland, Ore.; several grandchildren; five sisters, Heather Driscol of Portland, Ore., Maggie Monroe and Amby Monroe Morrison, both of Bellefontaine, Julie Monroe of Texas, and Jessie Stevens of Belle Center; a brother, Waylon (Angela) Monroe of Lakeview; his father-in-law, Theodore Harris of West Liberty; paternal grandmother, Myrna Hensley of Apison, Tenn.; numerous aunts and uncles, including Bryan Driscol, Eric Driscol, Cindy Bergherm, Teresa Driscol and Dave Henson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He also was preceded in death by paternal grandfather, Roy M. Driscol; maternal grandmother, Betty L. Ewing; and maternal grandfather, Donald L. Henson.
Pastor Steve Smith leads a celebration of Matt’s life at noon Saturday, April 21, at the Belle Center Veterans Memorial Building, 615 N. Center St., Belle Center.. Following the celebration service, there will be time to share stories and special memories of Matt.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Matt Driscol Fund in care of Osgood Bank, 165 E. Lake St., Lakeview, OH 43331.
