Mary Maxine Albert, 93, of Bellefontaine, passed away Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at Brookdale Senior Living, Marysville, OH.
Maxine was born July 15, 1928 in Union County to the late William and Thelma Christine (Kilbury) Gallentine. On September 4, 1948 she married Richard Lee Albert in a double wedding ceremony with Richard’s sister Mildred and Herbert Stratton in the Albert family home.
She and her husband managed and operated the Ashland Oil Bulk Plant in Bellefontaine from 1963 to 1973. Dick and Maxine were married 37 years until his death in 1985. She was also preceded in death by her eldest son Randall Lee Albert, her brother William Gallentine Jr., brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws Richard and Phyllis Rash and Herbert and Mildred Stratton.
Maxine is survived by her daughter Lynne (Dale) Clapsaddle of Zanesfield; son Scott (Joan) Albert of Plain City; eight grandchildren, Russell Geissinger, Josh Clapsaddle, Jaymie Clapsaddle LeVan, Todd Clapsaddle, Matt Albert, Allison Ingley, Chelsea England and Brittany Parker; 16 great grandchildren and three step great grandchildren. Also surviving are her sister-in-law Merrilyn Culp, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Don and Nancy Mobley and many nieces and nephews.
Maxine graduated from Rushsylvania High School in 1946. She then worked at Merchant Industries. Maxine was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She loved reading and taking day trips, playing cards with her ladies group and attending sporting events of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A Funeral Service will take place Friday, November 5, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. at Jennings Farley & Seeley Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will take place in Highland Memorial Cemetery following the service.
