Mark S. Axe, 58, of Belle Center, passed away Sunday afternoon, Aug. 14, 2016, at his home encircled by his loving family.
He was born Aug. 18, 1957, in St. Marys, to Paul and Bernice Axe, who survive.
A 1977 graduate of Memorial High School in St. Marys, he attended Wright State University.
He married Sandra Elsass in August 1978 and they divorced. He married Brenda Chandler of Black River Falls, Wis., and was happily married for 14 years.
Mark worked for Curascript, an Express Scripts company for eight years as director of sales, corporate accounts, spending more than 40 years in healthcare.
He was president of the Indian Lake U.S. Freshwater Boaters Association, and was an elder and member at the Indian Lake Community Church. He was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes and Green Bay Packers fan. Mark loved living at the lake, boating, fishing and spending time with his family, grandchildren and Longview Cove friends and neighbors.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
Mark is survived by his loving wife, Brenda Axe; daughter, Leslie Petrozello and Benjamin; son Brian Axe and Katie; son Brett Axe; stepsons, Craig Chandler and Corporal Jason Chandler; brothers, Matthew Axe and Linda, Daniel Axe and Kelly; and four grandchildren, Andrew and Charlie Axe and Macy and Greta Chandler.
A celebration of life service begins at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, at the Indian Lake Community Church, 120 S. Orchard Island Road, Russells Point, with Pastor Jim Ellington officiating.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 19, at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, 321 N. Main Street, Bellefontaine, and at the church an hour prior to the service.
Private burial is at a later date.
Memorials may be given to the Indian Lake Community Church, the USO and the local Toys for Tots chapter.
