Marjorie E. Bauer, 85, of Huntsville, passed away Wednesday evening, July 19, 2017, at Logan Acres Care Center, Bellefontaine.
Marjorie was born June 22, 1932, in Dayton to the late Warren Sr. and Nancy McClure Rhoades. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Warren E. Rhoades Jr.
She is survived by a niece, Nancy Payton of Reno, Nev.; nephew, Ed (Wanda) Rhoades of Lumberton, N.C.; sister-in-law, Kay Rhoades of Lima; many cousins, great- nieces and nephews; and longtime good friend, Nancy Benadum of Huntsville.
Marjorie was a graduate of Fairview High School in Dayton. She worked for Ohio Bell and retired from Pacific Telephone in San Diego, Calif., after 31 years of service. An avid reader, she lived in many places in Southern California, and at Indian Lake during her retirement. Marjorie was a member of the Indian Lake Community Church, Dayton Victory Order of Eastern Star 594 for more than 60 years, Indian Lake Women of the Moose Lodge 452 and Doyle R. Miller AMVETS Post 39 Auxiliary, both in Lakeview, and was a life member of VFW Post 8892.
Per Marjorie’s wishes, her body was cremated and no formal services are planned. Inurnment is in Walnut Hill Cemetery, New Hampshire, at a later date.
