Marie Heintz, 87, of Jackson Center, passed away Sunday, Jan. 6, 2019. She was born in Auglaize County in 1931 to the late Adrian and Pearl Engel.
In 1951, she married her husband of 65 years, John Heintz, in Moulton, and he preceded her in death.
Survivors include her four children, Patricia Brinkman, John Heintz, Marilyn (Dwight) Johnson and Linda Wilson; four grandchildren, Kathy (Kevin) Brown and their daughters, Molly and Madeline, Matthew (Courtney) Brinkman and their son, John, Amanda (Seth) Rooney and their sons, Aidan and Ethan, and Brian (Summer) Heintz; three sisters, Dorothy (Richard) Krites, Evelyn Wagner and Carolyn (Donald) Henschen; a brother, Robert (Shirley) Engel; and a special niece, Ann Fogt Clapp and family.
A dairy farmer’s wife, Marie retired from the Logan County Department of Jobs & Family Services after 16 years of service. She was a dedicated member of Grace Lutheran Church in Jackson Center where she served in Circle 2, helped offer communion to church members, and assisted with confirmation classes for many years.
She also was preceded in death by her sister, Ruth Lange; and a brother, Harold Engel.
Calling is from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11, at Grace Lutheran Church, 607 S. Main St., Jackson Center, where the Rev. Dr. Cathi Braasch officiates a funeral service at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 12 , following calling that begins at 10 a.m. A committal service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Greenlawn Cemetery in Wapakoneta.
