Margaret Ann Keys, 96, of Bellefontaine, and formerly of Belle Center, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday morning, July 13, 2016, at Green Hills Retirement Community, West Liberty.
She was born in Southfield, Mich., on Sept. 12, 1919, to the late George Leslie and Jane Elizabeth Todd Henning.
Margaret married Wilbur James Keys on May 30, 1941, in South Lyon, Mich., and he preceded her in death March 5, 1998. She also was preceded in death by a brother, Robert A. Henning.
Margaret attended Michigan State University as a home economics major. She was a charter member of the Logan County Agrarian Club which started in 1945, and, as a farmer’s wife, she also was a member of the Farm Bureau. Margaret was active in the Sheep & Lamb Improvement Association, the Logan County Piecemakers, the Logan County Home Extension Club and as a 4-H adviser.
She was a member of the Gideons International Auxiliary and the Belle Center Reformed Presbyterian Church. She taught CEF Good News Club and was involved in other Christian ministries.
Margaret is survived by her daughters, Ann (Larry) McFadden of Greenville and Jocele (Paul) McDonald of Bellefontaine; six grandchildren, Michelle (Jeff) Keiser, Julie McFadden, Chad (Sandy) McFadden, Jonathan (Bee Jae) McDonald, Michael (Andrea) McDonald and Pete (Rachel) McDonald; 15 great-grandchildren; a sister, Clara (Donald) Lowe of Altamonte Springs, Fla.; brother, James (Bonnie) Henning of Brighton, Mich.; and a sister-in-law, Esther Henning of Columbus, Ind.
Calling is from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, July 18, at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, Belle Center, where Pastor Philip Pockras officiates a funeral at 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 19. Burial follows in Fairview Cemetery, Belle Center.
