A 36-year-old city man driving around with several children in his car late Saturday was charged with drunk driving and child endangering, officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department report.
Officers were notified by deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office that a caller had reported the vehicle approaching the city on west State Route 47 at about 10:45 p.m. Officers began following the driver as he turned north onto Troy Road.
After several signs of impaired driving, officers stopped the vehicle in the Fontaine Plaza shopping center, 2070 S. Main St.
Officers identified the driver as Joshua L. Sieber, 36, of 450 Kristina Drive, Apt. 8D, and saw several children between the ages of 7 and 10 in the car.
Mr. Sieber showed signs of intoxication and was tested at the scene before being taken to the Bellefontaine Police Department where a breath test indicated a blood alcohol content between 0.127 and 0.143.
He was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs, child endangering and issued a citation for failure to drive in marked lanes.
Mr. Sieber’s wife was contacted and retrieved the children.
