Josh Taylor of Bellefontaine was transported around 3:45 a.m. Sunday by a Bellefontaine squad after he was beaten outside Comfort Inn, 260 Northview Drive.
He told officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department he was attacked by one man and then another jumped in when he began to fight back.
Police noted he appeared intoxicated and that he sustained injuries to his face and right arm.
Motorist faces OVI
Roger A. Queen, 46, of 500 Gunntown Road, Apt. D6, was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs and was cited for leaving the scene of a crash and failure to use a safety belt after witnesses detained him Friday.
Around 9:15 p.m., he was driving a sport utility vehicle eastbound in the 200 block of Spring Avenue and it struck the side of Jean Reames’ SUV parked legally along the street.
The suspect continued and was boxed in by another motorist on Colton Avenue near Newell Street.
Officers report the motorist, who reeked of alcohol and appeared intoxicated, was not able to complete field sobriety tests nor a breathalyzer test.
Passenger cited for open container
Leonard W. Clark, 54, of Bellefontaine, was charged Saturday with having an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle after officers investigated a complaint of a man with a gun.
He was a passenger in a pickup truck stopped around 5:10 p.m. in the 100 block of Pratt Street.
No weapons were found in the vehicle. However, there was an open can of beer in the cup holder.
Mr. Clark admitted it was his.
Neighbor lodged after threats

Daniel R. May, 51, of 509 W. Columbus Ave., Apt. 2, was charged Sunday with two counts of menacing.
He allegedly threatened to shoot Kristy Schoepfle, who lives in a neighboring apartment, and her boyfriend, Joseph L. Swain Jr., of Lakeview, who was visiting.
The suspect was upset Ms. Schoepfle had thrown hash brown potatoes onto the yard.
He also allegedly threw a rock at the victim.
A paroled felon, Mr. May was lodged in jail.
