Robert Hoffman of Marysville reported he was assaulted late Tuesday by a named male suspect at a Bellefontaine residence.
He talked with an officer of the Bellefontaine Police Department on duty at Mary Rutan Hospital after treatment for his injuries in the emergency room.
Motorist charged with OVI
Chad L. Howard, 34, of 330 Walker St., was charged May 16 with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs and cited for assured clear distance ahead.
Around 11:35 p.m., his northbound sport utility vehicle hit the rear of a pickup truck operated by Michael McCollum, no age provided, of Marysville, at Main Street and Auburn Avenue.
Officers detected an odor of alcohol while talking with Howard and noted his speech was slurred and his eyes were bloodshot. Witnesses reported he was stumbling about after exiting his SUV. Howard refused field sobriety tests, but submitted breathalyzer sample of 0.209.
