Drug charges filed after man found sleeping in car
FORD |
Officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department arrested a city man on multiple drug possession charges while investigating a report of a suspicious vehicle at 1 a.m. Thursday at Speedway, 329 S. Main St.
An officer went into the store and the attendant said a man had come in prior stating he had vehicle trouble and was waiting for assistance in the parking lot. When the officer approached the car they saw the driver sleeping in the driver’s seat with an open tin full of various prescription pills.
The driver, later identified as Gregory A. Ford, 36, of 812 Garfield Ave., attempted to hide the pills and was uncooperative at first. Additional officers responded and a search of the vehicle turned up two pills that were not prescribed to the driver along with a bag containing a small amount of suspected cocaine.
Various pieces of drug paraphernalia were also located in the car.
Ford was lodged in the Logan County Jail on possession of cocaine and two counts of possession of schedule II drugs.
