Jeremy Harvey, 23, of 630 Grand Ave., Russells Point, was charged with felony domestic violence as a result of an incident Sunday.
Officers of the Washington Township Police Department were dispatched about 3:35 p.m. to the Mary Rutan Hospital emergency room, in reference to a 24-weeks pregnant female patient, who said she had been assaulted by her boyfriend, Harvey.
Officers said a brief investigation revealed the defendant allegedly slapped, body slammed and kicked his girlfriend in the stomach in their Grand Ave. residence.
The victim was able to flee the residence and was transported by squad to Mary Rutan Hospital.
Officers made contact with Harvey at a residence in Russells Point. He was taken into custody and was lodged in the Logan County Jail.
Passenger charged after suspected meth found in traffic stop
Passenger Shane Hartley, 52, of Lakeview, was charged with possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia during a Friday evening traffic stop.
Officers on patrol in the area of State Route 708 near Orchard Island about 6:20 p.m. observed Kristie Hurless, 50, of Russells Point, operating a vehicle and initiated the stop since she was wanted on a Logan County warrant.
The driver gave consent to search the vehicle. Officers observed evidence of drug use in Hartley’s pant pocket and located other drug paraphernalia items in the area where Hartley was sitting.
Also during the vehicle search, officers recovered a clear plastic baggie with a white crystal substance inside. Hartley stated it was methamphetamine.
