Alexis J. Stewart, 34, of 108 Walnut St., Quincy, was charged with drug trafficking and corrupting another with drugs following an overdose incident Saturday afternoon.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office and DeGraff Fire and EMS responded about 4:30 p.m. to the Valero gas station in DeGraff, 319 Cretcher St., on a report of an unconscious woman in a vehicle.
When deputies arrived, the woman was being loaded into a squad, and Mr. Stewart told deputies he found the woman unresponsive in the vehicle.
The 61-year-old Quincy woman reportedly was revived after she was administered Narcan en route to Mary Rutan Hospital.
At the hospital, the woman told deputies that she gave Mr. Stewart a ride from Quincy to DeGraff that afternoon, and that he had been snorting a white substance in her vehicle. When she told him she wished she had her pain medication, he reportedly let her snort the substance as well.
Deputies also found white pills in the woman’s coat pocket, and charges against her are pending upon the receipt of medical test results.
After speaking with the woman, deputies went to Mr. Stewart’s address and placed him under arrest. He was lodged in the Logan County Jail.
