Emar L. Bailey, 35, of 160 W. Harrison St., Lakeview, was charged with domestic violence and was cited for driving under license forfeiture following a series of incidents Tuesday in the Indian Lake area.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office responded about 7 p.m. to the area of the Lakeview Post Office, 160 S. Main St., in reference to a caller reportedly observing a man and woman arguing and also the man striking the woman and throwing keys at her.
When deputies arrived, the victim, Chelsie Bradenburg, 22 of the same address, was visibly shaken and deputies observed a bruise near her left eye.
She told deputies that Bailey had been driving them around, and they started to argue, so she asked him to drop her off so she could go for a walk and get away from him.
However, he refused to drop her off, and Bradenburg said he continued driving on county roads around the Santa Fe area for about 11⁄2 hours, reportedly driving erratically and running stop signs. He also reportedly did not respond to her threats to contact law enforcement.
She said he eventually returned to his father’s residence along Bentz Street in Lakeview, and then she left on foot and walked to the nearby bike path. However, the defendant reportedly followed her there in a vehicle, and then began following her on foot.
Bradenburg said she wanted to stay in a public place for her safety, so she went to a bench by the post office and asked two women she saw to call law enforcement. Bailey was located nearby the post office and was transported to the Logan County Jail.
Suspected overdose victim revived
Deputies and Lakeview and BMRT squads responded about 11:35 a.m. Tuesday to 8991 Hilltop Drive, Lakeview, on a possible drug overdose.
Deputies said paramedics administered two doses of Narcan to resident Michael E. Vogler, 52, and he then was transported to Mary Rutan Hospital, where additional doses of Narcan were administered.
His roommate said he called 911 after Vogler had snorted heroin that day and then started to have a medical emergency.
Deputies were unable to speak with him. A report will be forwarded to the Logan County Prosecutor’s Office about the incident, and Vogler’s probation officer was contacted.
