Russell L. Plaugher, 52, of Waynesfield, was charged with domestic violence related to an incident Friday evening at Indian Trails Campground, 13793 N. State Route 235, Lakeview.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the campground about 11:20 p.m. in reference to a possible domestic dispute at lot C-12.
Deputies spoke with Plaugher’s wife, Bethany D. Plaugher, 50, also of Waynesfield, who said that he had thrown her to the ground on a gravel driveway. She showed deputies injuries to her knees, which had been scraped when she hit the gravel, and also injuries to her fingernails.
Deputies noted that she showed signs of intoxication, and upon waking her husband inside the camper, they noted that he showed signs of intoxication as well.
Mr. Plaugher told deputies that the couple had argued that evening, but said it had not been physical. When deputies asked him how his wife scraped her knee, he acknowledged that she was pushed down during their argument.
While deputies were placing her husband under arrest, Mrs. Plaugher reportedly became irate and began yelling at deputies. She was asked multiple times to calm down, as she was disturbing others at the campground. She did not comply with these orders and was placed under arrest for persistent disorderly conduct. Both defendants were lodged in the Logan County Jail.
