Logan A. Shaffer, 28, of 406 N. Center St., Belle Center, was charged with domestic violence as a result of an incident Tuesday evening at his residence.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office responded to his address about 11:30 p.m. on a report of a domestic dispute.
They spoke with Shaffer’s wife, who told deputies that during an argument, her husband had pushed her to the floor and then pushed her face into the floor with his hand, causing a knot to form on her forehead. She stated she tried to run away from him, but he grabbed the back of her shirt and ripped it while she was attempting to get away from him.
His wife stated she then ran out of the house barefoot and left the area. Deputies provided her with a ride back to the residence.
Shaffer told deputies that he had been drinking for most of the day, and that his wife had also been out drinking with friends that day. He said he became angry by a text message that he saw on her phone.
He was placed under arrest and lodged in the Logan County Jail.
