Andrew B. Dawson, 26, of Marysville, was charged with burglary and domestic violence related to incidents Monday morning, after Lakeview residents reported a strange man sleeping on a couch inside their home.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a residence in the 11200 block of Northlake Drive, Lakeview.
The husband and wife told deputies that she had discovered a man on the second floor deck of the home about 8:30 a.m. She then alerted her husband, and after talking with their neighbors, found that they also were searching for the same man.
A short time later, the couple found the man sleeping on a couch at their home. No damage or signs of forced entry were observed.
The suspect, identified as Dawson, reportedly exited the home and was located by deputies nearby the residence. He was placed under arrest.
While investigating, deputies were informed that Dawson’s girlfriend had been “house sitting” for another neighbor in the area and that Dawson had been looking for her.
Deputies interviewed his girlfriend, who reported she has a “no contact” order against Dawson and said he had pushed her the previous day. Other neighbors told deputies they had witnessed him strike his girlfriend and that’s why there were looking for Dawson.
The defendant was transported to the Logan County Jail. Deputies found that he is on probation in Union County and that there is an active domestic violence case against him there involving the same victim. The investigation continues.
