Austin R. Smith, 20, of Sidney, was charged with domestic violence and underage consumption following an incident early Sunday morning at Frosty’s Campground, 12901 State Route 235, Lakeview.
Deputies responded to the campground about 1 a.m. and met with his live-in girlfriend, Kelsey Moores, 21, who said the defendant had been intoxicated that evening and became enraged with her after she locked her keys in her car.
She reportedly called her mother for a ride home, and Smith allegedly threw her mother, Donna Moores, into a vehicle, and then shoved Kelsey onto the ground. Deputies observed a bump on the side of Kelsey’s head and a red mark on her lip, and swelling and redness above Donna’s left eye.
The defendant was arrested and lodged in the jail.
• Caleb A. Chafin, 16, of Alger, was charged with coercion, criminal damaging and disorderly conduct following an incident Friday at Dollar General, 13797 State Route 235, Lakeview.
Deputies responded to the store about 1:20 p.m. after being alerted by employees that the teen was threatening his mother. Caleb allegedly took his mother’s cell phone and disassembled it, and then stomped on the memory card.
He was lodged in the Logan County Juvenile Detention Center.
Domestic dispute leads to arrest

Curtis Nielson Jr., 54, of 445 N. Main St., Lakeview, was charged with domestic violence following an incident early this morning.
Deputies responded to his address about 2:50 a.m. on a report of a domestic dispute. His wife, Caroline, 48, said her husband came home from work early that morning angry at her, and allegedly pushed her out of the house into a garage area and then took her keys and her cell phone.
Mrs. Nielson had scrapes on her arm and leg and she said her back was hurting. He was located at a Stephenson Street address in Lakeview and was transported to the Logan County Jail.
OVI arrests reported
James L. Chesser. 58, of Richwood, was charged with OVI and was cited for an expired registration related to a traffic stop about 7:50 p.m. Sunday.
Deputies observed his vehicle driving at a speed lower that the posted speed limit in the area of State Route 273 just west of County Road 97 and upon completing records checks, also found that he had an expired registration.
During the traffic stop, deputies observed signs of intoxication. At the jail, Chesser submitted to a blood alcohol content test that registered at 0.111.
• Kellie Boone, 46, of 367 Penny Lane, Bellefontaine, was charged with OVI and was cited for marked lanes and an expired registration related to a traffic stop Thursday evening.
Deputies reportedly observed her vehicle sit through a green light cycle at Ludlow Road and Lake Avenue about 6:05 p.m. A traffic stop was initiated at township roads 189 and 179.
Signs of intoxication were observed, and Boone submitted to field sobriety tests. At the jail, her blood alcohol content level registered at 0.287.
Teen lodged for burglary
Seth Topp, 16, of 113 S. Mill St., DeGraff, was charged with burglary Monday and was lodged in the Logan County Juvenile Detention Center.
Deputies responded about 11:50 a.m. to 343 Race St., DeGraff, on a report of an attempted burglary.
Resident Hollie Pope said her neighbor Seth had attempted to enter the residence without permission.
Her daughter said she heard someone trying to get into the residence. She found that Seth reportedly gained entry to enclosed porch area through a locked door, and then was attempting to enter the main area of the home.
The porch door jamb and the latch were damaged as a result.
Pope said a number of items have come up missing from her home in recent months, including clothing and money, which she previously reported.
Deputies spoke with Seth and his stepfather at their residence, and then placed the teen under arrest.
