RODABAUGH |
Joshua Rodabaugh, 28, of 1600 S. Detroit St., Apt. 12, Bellefontaine, was charged with felony counts of domestic violence and burglary following an incident Wednesday evening at his apartment complex, Lamplight Court Apartments.
Officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department were dispatched to his address about 10:40 p.m.
A neighbor, Kaitlyn Erwin, reported that she had observed the defendant drag his girlfriend, Jennifer VomBaur, by the hair and neck while they were outside. Ms. Erwin had intervened and ushered Ms. VomBaur into her apartment, and locked the door.
Ms. Erwin said Mr. Rodabaugh then forcibly entered her residence, Apt. 13, where he reportedly engaged in an altercation with her live-in boyfriend, Jake Harmon.
Both Ms. Erwin and Mr. Harmon completed statements. Officers observed damage to their door where it had been forced open by the defendant.
Officers also spoke with Ms. VomBaur, who reported that after she arrived home that day, she and the defendant had started arguing about a phone call. She then went outside, and he followed her, demanding that she come inside. She said Mr. Rodabaugh then grabbed ahold of her hair and body and attempted to forcibly drag her back into the apartment.
Ms. VomBaur said she had no visible injuries from the incident.
Mr. Rodabaugh reportedly had locked himself in the couple’s apartment, and officers obtained a key from Ms. VomBaur. He was arrested and transported to the Logan County Jail. Officers noted that he has a previous domestic violence conviction from 2009.
