Davin S. Hickman, 5811 S. State Route 235, Quincy, was charged with assault related to an incident Saturday evening at the Riverside Campground, 3839 S. S.R. 235, Quincy.
Deputies responded to the campground about 9:10 p.m. in reference to a man who had been assaulted. They first met with Todd McKee, 49, of Sidney, at lot A6.
He reported that a group of friends had been grilling and drinking alcoholic beverages that evening, and that a verbal argument ensued between him and Hickman. McKee said Hickman allegedly threw him to the ground and held him there and the pair had to be separated by others at the gathering.
McKee’s wife, Dina, also provided a statement about the incident. There were no physical injuries to Mr. or Mrs. McKee, deputies said.
Deputies then spoke with Hickman, who said Mr. McKee had come at him aggressively during the altercation. He admitted to holding Mr. McKee to the ground and said Mrs. McKee had kicked him in the face when the two men were on the ground. Deputies observed an abrasion to the left side of his face.
Hickman reportedly declined to file charges against Mr. or Mrs. Hickman, deputies said. He was lodged in the Logan County Jail.
• Brian D. Henson, 49, of 9077 State Route 559, North Lewisburg, was charged with domestic violence related to an incident at his residence Sunday evening.
Deputies responded about 8:25 p.m. to his address in reference to a domestic violence complaint by his live-in girlfriend, Raquel Vazquez, 36, who said she and her 11-year-old son had fled to a vehicle on the property after the defendant attempted to assault her.
When deputies arrived, they said Henson came out onto the porch and invited them to speak inside because of the inclement weather.
Deputies observed that he was intoxicated. Henson reported that the pair had a verbal argument, and he changed his story several times about whether he physically assaulted Vazquez, stating at one point that he “grabbed her by the legs” when she “wouldn’t listen to him.”
Deputies also spoke with Vazquez, who reported that Henson becomes violent when he drinks alcohol. She said he had been drinking since 9 a.m. that day, and that he allegedly attempted to strike her in the face and missed, and then she said he grabbed her by the legs.
She reportedly kicked at him to defend herself.
Henson was placed under arrest and transported to the jail.
