ROBINSON |
Preston L. Robinson, 29, of 104 E. Torrence St., Belle Center, was charged with three counts of felony domestic violence related to an incident at his residence Tuesday.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office responded to his address about 7:15 p.m. on a report from a female juvenile who said her father had assaulted her, her stepmother and her brother.
When deputies arrived, they observed the suspect, Robinson, attempting to leave the property in a vehicle with several juvenile passengers. The defendant told deputies that no one had been hurt or assaulted inside the home.
Inside the home, deputies observed several additional juveniles and Ericka Berry, 23, who was visibly upset and crying. She said Robinson had struck her and two other juveniles, a 13-yearold girl and an 11-year-old boy.
Deputies said Berry had visible bruising on her arm and the boy had a visible abrasion on his neck. The girl’s face was red and she told deputies that her face hurt after her father had struck her in the head. She said he began hitting her while she was holding the family’s 6-month-old baby.
The 13-year-old boy told deputies that he had returned home from the hospital after being treated for the flu, and that his father became upset with him after receiving a text message from his teacher.
Berry said she had been away from the home when the incident began, buying medication for several of the children who were sick. She received an angry phone call from Robinson during that time, so she hurried home.
Robinson was placed under arrest and was transported to the Logan County Jail. He was issued the felony charges because of a prior domestic violence charge.
