Quinten J. Turner, 26, of 108 White St., West Liberty, was charged with possession of drugs Thursday after deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office and Allen Township EMS responded to report of a possible over-dose in Middleburg.
Deputies were dispatched to the scene at the Middleburg gas station about 5:50 p.m. and Allen Township EMS personnel were already treating a woman inside their squad. She was transported to Mary Rutan Hospital for treatment.
Deputies spoke with Turner at the scene, and he reported that he and the woman, Bethany L. Lasseter, 24, of Huntsville, had traveled to a wildlife area on Township Road 152 and had used heroin. According to
Turner, when the pair arrived at the gas sta- tion, Lassester began overdosing on the drug. Deputies seized a syringe from the gas sta-
tion that reportedly had been utilized to inject the drug.
While speaking with Turner, deputies said he showed signs of being under the influence. He was evaluated medically by the Allen Township EMS personnel. After being cleared by paramedics, he was placed under arrest and transported to the Logan County Jail.
At the jail, corrections staff seized what was deemed a “suspicious” $100 bill from his wallet
Deputies also responded to the hospital to speak with Lasseter. She admitted to using heroin and signed a second chance substance abuse form. The matter will be forwarded to the Logan County Prosecutor’s Office.
