Ryan P. Shough, 42, of 8684 N. U.S. Route 68, Rushsylvania, was charged with a felony count of domestic violence following an incident at his residence Thursday.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to his address about 12:20 p.m. on a report of an active domestic dispute involving an assault.
When they arrived, deputies met with his wife, Alisha, 36, and her 13-year-old and 4-year-old daughters, who were seated in a minivan in the driveway. She said her husband woke up angry that morning because she told him he needed to get ready for a doctor’s appointment. She said he then allegedly grabbed her by the hair and nightgown and began choking her, and also grabbed her arm and “tried to break it.”
Her 13-year-old daughter came in the room to help her mother, and the suspect reportedly started punching at the girl, whose glasses were damaged in the altercation.
He allegedly threw a picture frame at his wife, injuring her arm, and threw his phone and broke it. Deputies noted visible injuries to Mrs. Shough’s right forearm and lip.
Deputies said the defendant had cuts on his chest and forehead and was complaining of stomach pain. He was transported by Rushcreek EMS to Mary Rutan Hospital, and upon release, was arrested and taken to the Logan County Jail.
