A 34-year-old West Liberty man was charged with felony domestic violence for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend early this morning.
Beth Bostick, 47, went into the police the West Liberty Police Department at about 2:30 a.m. to report that she had been attacked by her boyfriend at their shared 402 N. Detroit St. residence.
Officers responded to the area and located Nicholas Cheek passed out in a tree line near the former Adriel campus where he was taken into custody without incident. He was transported to the Logan County Jail and lodged on a domestic violence charge, which was filed as a felony because of prior convictions in 1999 and 2003, officers report.
Bostick reported Cheek began assaulting her following an argument over a cell phone. She was forced to flee the home on foot, partially clothed and waved down a motorist to take her to the police department. She was transported by a Mac-O-Chee EMS squad to Mary Rutan Hospital for visible injuries.
