Dion R. Malcom, 28, of Springfield, was charged Wednesday with theft and possession of marijuana and served warrants for possession of cocaine and complicity.
He was spotted around 6 p.m. walking from a Pratt Street apartment complex toward Walnut Street. The officer noted that a parked sport utility vehicle began moving toward him.
When the officer caught up with the SUV, he observed the suspect in the rear seat.
A traffic stop was initiated to arrest him on the warrants.
A plastic bag containing marijuana was found stuffed between the seat cushions along with a video game system reported stolen on Sunday.
Officers contacted the victim and she confirmed the system was hers.
Malcom was lodged in the Logan County Jail.
• Brandon J. Lee, 30, of 8253 State Route 366, Russells Point, was charged with possession of drugs and possession of marijuana drug paraphernalia after a 5:55 p.m. traffic stop Tuesday.
He was pulled over on west Sandusky Avenue for two stop sign violations. When asked about contraband, Lee handed over a pipe for smoking marijuana.
A prescription pill was found in the coin pocket of his paints.
• Danny L. Ellis, 47, of 11421 Eagle Path, Lakeview, was charged Wednesday with public intoxication. Around 5:55 p.m., officers were dispatched to the Village Pantry, 200 E. Sandusky Ave., and watched as he stumbled out of the store, dropping a pack of cigarettes and nearly falling over.
There was no one officers could call to pick him up, so he was arrested and lodged in jail for his safety. He was cooperative with officers, according to reports.
